Kisses Dickens – Axemen (Heavens to Betsy cover)
I watched a movie called Izzy Gets The F*ck Across Town the other day. I really liked it and then about halfway through the movie Mackenzie Davis and Carrie Coon suddenly launch into a slightly countryfied acoustic version of this song and it just blew me away, just completely took me out of the movie and to another place. Their voices compliment each other so well and there are these little variances of tone which just kick it up a notch. And Mackenzies eyes. Just Hypnotic.

Ethel Cain – Crush
This just popped up randomly and I’m glad it did. Some people think it sounds a little like Lana Del Ray but as I’ve never listened to any of her music I wouldn’t have a clue. It’s just a cool dreamy sort of song.
Wet Leg – Wet Dream
Their last single ‘Chaise Longue’ was odd but catchy and the latest one builds on that by being a bit more conventional but just as fun. This could be a good album.

Goat Girl – Cracker Drool and Pest
A couple of tracks from Goat Girl, yet another band found completely at random. I’m really glad I did because their latest album is great. The first song ‘Cracker Drool’ is from their first album and has a kind of 60’s Country rock feel to it but dragged screaming into the 21st Century.
Yes I’m aware I’m really bad at explaining what I mean, ok.

On their second album, everything changed. It’s more electronic with lots of ambient sounds and definitely more approachable and worth a listen. I really like it.

Poppy – On The Level
Finally because Poppy dropped her new album, I have to include this. Her last album was just fucking amazing. I can listen to it whatever mood I’m in. This one isn’t quite the same but its a lot more upbeat and poppy (see what I did there, huh?). This song would be a great summer single.
